Seeing your posts pop up in my feed sure makes me happy ❤️ I'm also a big believer in finding happiness in the little things. Writing with a smooth pen, reading a good book, waiting for a flower to open. There's so much all around us to give us a smile if we stop to notice and appreciate it.
Curling up on my sofa with a cup of tea and a good book (Austen, Bronte, Dickens) in the afternoons when the chores are done, new stationery, sitting on a bench watching the ocean waves roll in. Yes, it’s the little things that make me happy. Thank you for the reminder, Sandra.
Seeing my disabled daughter smile at me ... Watching my cat curled up in sleep, wearing a me-made garment...planting flowers...stepping outside to watch the first snowfall...or simpler still, sitting still with a nice cup of tea in my hand. ... Thank you Sandra for sharing your words with me today 😊😊
For me, it's the little things that make my day a little brighter. I have the privilege of living in the mountains near a river. Daily, I get to hear the river, see and hear the birds, and listen to the wind weaving its way down the canyon to me. I get to delight in the appearance of tiny wildflowers, the smell of the moss and lichen after a rain, and the smell of truly clean mountain air. Daily, I am reminded of how fortunate I am. Every day.
Oh my goodness, I love a new mug! I have to say I’ve been somewhat envious of the lovely toadstool mugs you showed in one of your recent Christmas vlogs. 😊 Happiness is a few minutes of crochet at the end of busy days. And tea - always tea. 🫖
Oh the end of the day crochet is a life saver isn’t it and always something to look forward to! Yep can’t beat mixing up the mugs to keep things fresh. ☺️
Simple things sure make me happy as well! When I was younger I journalled a lot (actually before kids im still young ofcourse 😂 and if you write on the right kind of paper with the best (often not even the most expensive) pen and the pages make that wrinkly sound when you turn the pages... I still feel that joy and it makes me want to grab my journal again😘
Oh I totally agree. Just think how many happy micro-moments you can stuff into a day. The really big things only roll around every so often but those little magical moments are everywhere.
Hot tea in a favourite mug, my corgis sleeping in the sunshine, loud teenage laughter from my older three and nine year old giggles from my youngest...so many things! Thank you for this, Sandra 😊
Yes! I love it when Bertie does that too. Don’t they always look so peaceful curled up like they don’t have a care in the world? Yes I love it when I can hear my daughter chattering and her laugh drifting through. Such a happy sound. ☺️

Ah thanks! Oh yes a nice pen is a pleasure for sure.

Oh that does sound truly wonderful, there are so many pleasures in nature, the sound of the water is just one of the best things. You are rich indeed!

Fellow mug lover here too - and you've reminded me to try and track down that toadstool mug. I saw it recently and fell in love with it 🍄

The smell of a new book. The little fizz of excitement when I figure out a challenging word puzzle clue. Holding something that my mother made.

Oh I love that one. Stationary generally is a simple pleasure actually, the happiness of a new notebook! 👌☺️

That’s it. It just makes life so much richer when you can appreciate all these little things. Thanks so much ❤️
