I so get this. And it's lovely to have your written blog back - I much prefer the written word to a vlog / podcast. Have a great 2025

I think this goes with the crafty life though, you see things and say oh i can do that and there goes the less is more attitude we so often want.... on a side note i just did the heel turn on my first socks.... i knit toe up before with after thought heel but i had gaps and holes so tryinh this way to see.... gusset sounds daunting, picking up stitches but I'll get on with it this afternoon with a cuppa after homework is done.... loving your blog posts x

There is always that need to make more things than we could ever manage too for sure! I guess blurring the work/craft life just exacerbates that even more.

Good work on the sock by the way!

I am in complete agreement with this Sandra. I have so much 'stuff', more than I could ever possibly use in my lifetime. I turned 70 last year (which I still can't quite get my head around), and I realised that I really need to decide which of my many and varied hobbies really bring me joy and concentrate on them.

As much as I love your podcast and particularly your quiet moments posts, I so enjoy reading your thoughts in this format. Really makes me think and take things on board. Have a wonderful year!

I am in awe of your offerings to the world. Your body of work is exquisite and extensive. Your instructions and tutorials are immensely helpful. And you’ve done all this while raising your daughter to young adulthood. Your husband and you deserve a lot of credit. And you’re a wonderful pet mom. Now doesn’t all this accomplishment justify your giving yourself regular time off, not always being productive? I am 71, retired, and getting my crochet skills back up to speed. You have already given enough wonderful projects to keep me busy through this lifetime. And I am so grateful for your work.

I hear you loud and clear. One of the goals I set for myself this year is to use up over 60 % my stash of yarn before buying any more. Unless I need it for a project. I do sell my crochet items at a local fiber shop and teach crochet. I also take on the occasional paid piece. (Hence needing additional yarn for a certain project). I don't think I even took a vacation last year due to my hubby's health. I know you will figure it all out though, you're pretty good at it. ♥️🍒

I really enjoy the written word and thinking about what you say. I too, was a let's do it all kind of girl but in all of life. Over the last few years though, I have grown better at making time for me and also at the mantra " it will be finished when it is finished and that is ok". Only took me until retirement :).

I have done "intentions" rather than goals or plans this year. They are along the lines of learn a new stitch, shop my stash first, use Australian designers and yarn where possible etc.

Love your journal pages.

Lovely to see you back blogging Sandra! I’m definitely good at taking on too much which is evident in the current number of WIPs I have. I’ve decided that this is the year of the WIP, am determined to at least finish more than I start!
